Opening The LinkedIn Toolbox

It is always easy to hate on a platform. I feel we are also going deeper into believing that everyone always wants everyone else’s opinion. Like it’s so easy to type stuff now and have a stranger read it. I grew up before that was so easy. But yes, I am about to do this exact same thing and my topic at this time is LinkedIn.

Here is what Google’s AI Overview says: it allows users to build a digital resume, connect with colleagues, find jobs, recruit talent, and share industry insights, essentially “linking” professionals “in” their respective fields for economic opportunity.

I have spoken about it before and will again in the future but most creatives I have worked with want to stay as far away as possible to anything resembling “business think” or “corporate speak.” Most of them will avoid a spreadsheet or even timecards at all costs. LinkedIn screams of this stuff. Let’s be honest, when platforms like Facebook and Instagram first showed up, creatives were drawn to it. They seemed fun and a cool way to flex ideas. This was not the case with LinkedIn. Chalked full of HR lingo and very little visuals. The creatives did not line up in droves to participate.

Ranger was seeking a polished way to build a trust funnel, a way to communicate our solutioning to the world above and beyond paid media, a cool website, and cold calling strangers. Our founding partner Evan started talking to our now good friend Peter Holgate, a pipeline wizard with a massive knowledge of LinkedIn. Yes – LinkedIn. We felt it was time to get deeper into this robust platform and see what its true potential was. Peter not only knows the platform but he specializes in agency clients and understands our challenges.

After a couple meetings we were hooked. Yes, there are still some elements of LinkedIn that stifle the average creative, but with Peter holding our hands, we felt we were off to the races. Walking us through a step by step plan, and helping us gain our confidence, we felt this was the best way to enter 2026.

We have been pushed out of our comfort zone, but it has been amazing watching my fellow Rangers find their LinkedIn footing and start to blossom in this system. If you are an agency and you are seeking to better understand this world, let us know and we will introduce you.
